The Great Thanksgiving Escape
We just got back from a couple of weeks in Texas. It felt like the Great Thanksgiving Escape – Family, Warm Weather, and Our health. For that I’m very Thankful. In Minnesota the weather is just turning cold, so our bodies were quickly trying to adjust as you saw in my Blog “Oh My, It Feels Like Winter – Already?” Now after a few weeks of coldness, we got to escaped to summer again in Texas. We visited Austin and Houston. Both cities have lots to do. Culturally they are very different.
Zilker Metropolitan Park, Austin
Reimer Ranch, Austin (We went hiking, but last time we went rock climbing here)
Enchanted Rock – Pink granite rock
In Austin you can find your healthy cultural side. There is a lot of walking, and biking paths. And if you feel like hitting the water, there is the Colorado River where you can canoe, kayak, and paddle board.
In Houston you can find yourself in the big city. With everything to do; climbing this, bouncing that… Finding a walking path can be a bit more challenging. Also, don’t forget the Johnson Space Center in Houston.
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving too.
